My Clinic has completely changed its focus to one that I have resisted all my life. Being well and not sick is a hard concept to bring to patients, and yet it is the most important thing a doctor can do and the most unprofitable. In America it's easy for an injured patient who hurts and is in pain, to show up at my office for treatment. They receieve the correct treatment and then they leave and never think about thier health again until it is too late. After I became certified in acupuncture and understood the correct way of dealing with health I changed my mind. It was no longer good enough to get a patient out of pain. It became my responsibility to make sure that patient became as healthy as they could be, live as long as they could and avoid health problems.
What I discovered is that the day you have a heart attack and show up in the emergency room you know you have a heart problem. But the day before you had a heart attack, did you have a heart problem? The answer is yes. How about a week before, a month before, a year before? The simple answer is yes! It is that way with all types of disease. The old adage of Ben Franklin holds true; "An Ounce of Prevention is worth a Pound of Cure!"

Richard Ivy is a Doctor of Chiropractic and Certified in Acupuncture and has been treating patients since 1981. Dr. Ivy graduated from Texas Chiropractic College, is a member of the Texas Chiropractic Association and The American Aucupuncture Society.Dr. Ivy also practices Classical Chinese Acupunture which is a central focus of his treatment plans for many of his patients. Classical Acupuncture is the most dificult form of acupuncture but the results are well worth the time and effort.
